Mobile Trauma Unit
The Homeland Security Mobile Trauma Unit is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization which provides medical and surgical care to federal agencies and visiting dignitaries. The team consists of volunteer doctors, nurses, paramedics and technicians and we provide in-field advanced surgical capabilities during national security events in the New York City metropolitan area. We work in conjunction with local Emergency Medical Services assets. We provide immediate surgical/mobile operating room capabilities which are rapidly deployable, days before federal disaster teams can be activated. As a one of a kind newly formed unit in the region, our organization relies on its volunteer members and contributors.
The MTU has over 50 members who are active practicing physicians, nurses, medics, EMT's and support personnel.
